Whew - this 365 project is quite an undertaking. I'm definitely behind and I've come to terms with the fact that I'll always be behind. Also, I used to take tons of pictures of a subject, choose the best one, and then take another tons of pictures on another subject, and continue that process for each day of the month. Too much work! So, I'm just using all the pictures I've taken of a subject (as long as they're half decent) and using them. I actually enjoy seeing the variations on a single subject, so I like the change for more than one reason.
Since I had so many photos to show at once (an entire month), I created a powerpoint and uploaded it to SlideShare.

Behind my apartment is a park that is used all the time. There is a pavilion, benches, a grassy field that is used for pick up games of football, a basketball court, and playground equipment.

Now that I am all caught up on my photos for the 365 project, I am definitely not going to get so far behind again! As of this week, I am officially over 50% finished with the project. This week we have a blue/Americana theme in honor of the Fourth of July.

It is hard to believe that flowers would bloom during the dreary spring we are suffering through, but I guess they are a bit tougher than me. I am waiting for the sun and warmth to truly let my energy blossom and feel carefree. The blossoms are breathtaking and serve as a reminder that spring is here, whether it seems like it or not, and that summer is just around the corner!

March 7-15
When taking pictures, I many times find myself drawn to the seemingly ugly and rundown. A rusted out dumpster, peeling paint, a rundown alley, an abandoned building ... all attract me. There is a somewhat haunting or worn-out aesthetic in these photos that I appreciate.

February 28-March 6
Downtown Selinsgrove is quite quaint. It is about 2 blocks and stays alive thanks to the local University. There are several restaurants, a few bars, a wonderful micro-brewery, a couple hair salons, a cozy cafe, and a variety of other businesses. My favorite establishment is the local used bookstore. I cannot walk in without entering into a fascinating conversation with the owner and leaving a book or two richer.
For the 6 years that I have lived in Selisngrove, I have lived within walking distance of the downtown. I love being able to walk to the post office or the library or to get something to eat ... it is quite convenient and holds a certain charm that suburbia lacks. So, on a recent walk, I snapped a few pictures that capture the flavor of Selinsgrove.

I've been using PictureTrail for most of my photo slide shows, but I just discovered GoodWidgets and I really like it. Uploading the pictures is a little more time intensive, but the final product is great:) If you have any suggestions for places to create photo slide show widgets, let me know ... I'd love to test them out!

January 24-30
I decided to take some pictures of my library since I do spend a huge chunk of my life there. You'll see my always messy desk, areas where students can sit and relax and/or work and read, a shelf of new books, some book fair displays, and the circulation desk. These pics will give you a little peak into my work world. Of course, I can't have any shots with students in them, but just imagine all these areas filled with students. I always have anywhere from 1 to 50 students in the library at one time. So, while these may not be the most artistic photos, they are my life.

January 1-8
Here begins the first week of my 365 project . . . 51 more weeks to go. If you're interested you can check out my 365 Project site. You're welcome to view pictures there, but it is not necessary as I'll be posting them all here as well :)
Since I don't find blogger to be very picture friendly (any help/suggestions/tips for adding and arranging pictures is welcome), I am going to be experimenting with a variety of slideshow type applications. I'm testing out PictureTrail here.
